Dacoit Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad In Adivi Sesh's Film?

Adivi Sesh has paired up with Mrunal Thakur for his latest movie Dacoit which has hit the screens on Friday.

Directed by Shaneil Deo, the movie also has Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, Kamakshi Bhaskarla and others in the cast. The film has Bheems Ceciroleo's music, Kodati Pavan Kalyan's editing, and Danush Bhaskar's photography.

Story

Haridas, also known as Hari, and Juliet, also called Saraswati, are deeply in love and determined to support each other through every hardship. But fate intervenes, separating them-Hari ends up in prison, while Saraswati moves on and marries another man. The story of how their paths intertwine once more, and how they come to play significant roles in each other's lives again, forms the heart of Dacoit.

The Corner Seat: #Dacoit attempts to weave a love story rich with deep emotions, all intertwined with crime and action.

Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur deliver strong performances, but the film doesn't quite reach its full potential.

The first half itself doesn't quite hit it, but it's still manageable. However, the second half goes haywire and fails to recover until the very end.

Dacoit offers engaging moments only here and there, and ends with an unsatisfying climax. There is a visible effort, good casting, production and technical quality, and performances, but ultimately, they all suffer from an unengaging narrative.

Mohan Kumar: #Dacoit - Action Love Story

The first half stays engaging with a racy screenplay that keeps the momentum going. The "Kanepettaro" remix followed by Jonita Gandhi's special song adds a stylish touch to the narrative.

The Movie's BGM deserves special appreciation especially it created a good impact while action sequences.

The climax turns out to be the biggest positive, wrapping up the film on a satisfying note.

Overall, Adivi Sesh comes back with another blockbuster. 💥

The climax and a terrific background score offer some relief, but overall it ends up an underwhelming effort.

Venky Reviews: #Dacoit An average action love story that is technically strong, but the screenplay only works in parts.

The film is technically sound. and that is its biggest strength. However, the screenplay and writing are where it falters in places. There are twists and turns to keep things moving, but they aren't as effective as they should be.

A few sequences work well but a lot of portions also remind you of Kshanam/Goodachari, which makes the screenplay feel redundant and predictable. Climax twist is way too over the top.

Adivi Sesh performs aptly in his role, but his Rayalaseema dialect should have been better. Mrunal is decent.

It ends up being just an alright watchable film with lowered expectations.

#Dacoit Adequate 1st Half!

The first 30 minutes is flat with the love story portions being mostly ineffective and an unnecessary song. However, it picks up well after that with a few well written sequences. The editing feels very similar to Adivi Sesh's previous film.
