JoSAA Counselling 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment Released; Candidates Can Check Results at josaa.nic.in

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced the Round 1 seat allotment results for JoSAA Counselling 2026.

Engineering aspirants seeking admission to BTech programmes at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) can now access their allotment status through the official JoSAA website.

Candidates can log in using their application number and password to view and download their seat allotment results.

The Round 1 allotment has been conducted for admissions to engineering institutions participating in JoSAA Counselling for the 2026-27 academic session. Candidates who have been allotted seats must complete the online reporting process within the stipulated deadline. This includes payment of the seat acceptance fee, uploading of required documents, and responding to any verification-related queries.

Students who have secured seats in their preferred programmes and institutions are required to report to their allotted institutes between June 12 and June 26.

Steps to Check JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result

• Visit the official JoSAA website.
• Click on the "View Seat Allotment Result - Round 1" link on the homepage.
• Enter your application number and password.
• Submit the details.
• The seat allotment result will appear on the screen.
• Check your allotment status and download the result for future reference.

According to the official seat matrix, a total of 67,323 seats are available this year. Of these, 64,219 are regular seats, while 3,014 seats are reserved under the female supernumerary category.

JoSAA Counselling 2026 facilitates admissions to 138 premier technical institutions across India, including:

• 23 IITs
• Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru
• 31 NITs
• Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur
• 26 IIITs
• 56 Other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs)

Admissions to IITs and IISc are based on candidates' performance in JEE Advanced 2026, while admissions to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs are determined by JEE Main 2026 ranks.

Seat allocation follows the government's approved reservation policy, with seats distributed across categories such as OPEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD.
