'Vijay, Can You Name 10 Party Workers Without Seeing Paper?': Divya Sathyaraj's Open Challenge To TVK Chief

Actor and activist Divya Sathyaraj has once again launched a sharp attack on Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Thalapathy Vijay, questioning his leadership abilities and his connection with party workers. Speaking at a public event on Wednesday, Divya criticised the actor-turned-politician over recent incidents and challenged him to prove his familiarity with his own cadre.

Referring to recent deaths reported in different districts, she said political leaders must take responsibility and not remain detached from ground realities. "In Karur, 41 people have died. In Salem, one person died. In Dindigul, no one died. You guys need to take responsibility for all this," she said, addressing the gathering.

Divya also took aim at Vijay's speech in Salem, where he had said he would decide on certain matters after referring to the party's election manifesto. Using a metaphor to question his preparedness, she said a leader who needs to check a document before responding would lose public confidence.

"I saw Vijay sir's speech in Salem. In that speech, he said he would tell people what to do after looking at the election manifesto. That's how he is. Let me give an example. Give me some time, I have a slight tooth pain. I'm going to see a doctor, and when I ask the doctor what injection I need, I check my textbook first and then tell the clinic," she said.

She added that such an approach would make people doubt the doctor's competence, and similarly, voters would hesitate to trust a leader who appears unsure. "They probably ran off, they won't even stay there because that doctor doesn't even know what injection to give. It's the same with people-they don't understand what to do with them, so how do you expect people to trust you and vote for you?" she asked.

Divya further alleged that women in Vijay's party did not feel secure and cited the example of a party member named Ajitha, claiming it reflected the internal environment of the party.

In a direct challenge to the TVK chief, she questioned whether Vijay could name ten party workers without referring to notes. "One challenge for Vijay sir - without checking the paper, can you give the names of 10 party workers? If you're the leader of that party, you should name their names," she said. She also called upon TVK cadre to share photographs with Vijay on social media, suggesting it would demonstrate their closeness to the leader.

This is not the first time Divya Sathyaraj has criticised Vijay. In recent months, she has made several remarks targeting him, including controversial comments about his personal and political choices. She had earlier taken a swipe at him over reports that he travelled on the same flight as actors Keerthy Suresh and Trisha Krishnan and had also referred to him as a "naughty politician" at a political meeting.

Her latest remarks come at a time when Vijay is preparing to strengthen his party ahead of upcoming political milestones. While the TVK chief has not responded to her latest comments, the repeated criticism reflects the increasingly heated political exchanges surrounding his transition from cinema to politics.
