Weather Systems Behind the Rains
In its daily bulletin, the RMC said that:

- Another upper-air cyclonic circulation lies over the central parts of the Strait of Malacca. Under its influence, a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the Southeast Bay of Bengal on November 22.
- This system may intensify into a depression over the central South Bay of Bengal by November 24, and further strengthen as it moves towards the Southwest Bay over the following 48 hours.
- The earlier cyclonic circulation over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has now weakened.

Temperature Extremes
The RMC reported that Madurai Airport recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state on Wednesday at 33.5°C, while Karur Paramathi saw the lowest minimum temperature at 18.0°C among the plains of Tamil Nadu.
