Like CSK In Cricket, TVK Will Blow Whistle In Tamil Nadu Polls: Vijay Attacks DMK

In a politically charged and high-voltage address at Thanjavur, actor-politician Vijay sharpened his attack on the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, declaring that the 2026 Assembly election would be a decisive battle for Tamil Nadu's future and pride.

Reiterating his controversial line first delivered in Vellore - "Tamil Nadu is Vijay, Vijay is Tamil Nadu" - the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief said the statement reflected the deep emotional bond he shares with the people.

"We are the true representatives of Tamil Nadu. That's why I said it," he asserted, framing the contest as "Vijay versus Stalin" and even "Tamil Nadu versus Delhi." He accused political rivals of attempting to confuse voters and intimidate minorities through "backdoor politics" and fear tactics.

CSK Analogy: Tamil Nadu vs Delhi

In a remark that drew loud cheers, Vijay invoked cricket to make his political point. Referring indirectly to the popularity of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), he said that just as the Tamil Nadu team cannot be compared with the Delhi team on the cricket field, Tamil Nadu's political spirit cannot be dictated by Delhi.

"In cricket, when Tamil Nadu plays, it's Tamil Nadu that whistles. The same will happen in this election," he said, alluding to the iconic whistle associated with CSK fans. The crowd erupted as he linked the whistle symbol of TVK to the electrifying stadium atmosphere whenever Chennai plays.

Drawing parallels between the roaring support for CSK and the groundswell for TVK, Vijay suggested that the "whistle storm" would echo in every household during the elections. "You can try to stop Vijay, but you cannot stop every Vijay in every home," he declared.

Attack on DMK Government

Shifting to governance issues, Vijay launched a scathing critique of the Stalin-led administration, accusing it of enabling sand mafia operations and failing to safeguard Tamil Nadu's natural resources. Referring to court observations on illegal sand mining, he questioned whether the government had taken meaningful action.

He warned of an impending water crisis, citing reports about depleting groundwater levels. "If water runs out, bankruptcy follows. Tamil Nadu is heading towards danger if this continues," he cautioned.

The TVK chief also accused the DMK government of mounting unsustainable debt while neglecting farmers. From crop losses in the Delta region to fertilizer shortages, he alleged that farmers were left to fend for themselves.

Big Promises to Farmers, Youth

Vijay announced that if TVK comes to power, crop loans taken from cooperative banks by farmers owning up to five acres would be fully waived. For those with larger landholdings, up to 50% relief would be considered.

He further promised free education - including professional courses like engineering and medicine - for children of small and landless farmers, subject to certain conditions. He pledged strict regulation of procurement centres to prevent paddy wastage and vowed action against commission practices in ration shops.

On inter-state river disputes such as Cauvery and Mullai Periyar, Vijay accused the DMK of delaying serious efforts and only laying foundation stones close to elections for political mileage.

"This Is an Emotion"

Throughout the speech, Vijay repeatedly returned to the emotional core of his campaign. "This is not just an election. This is an emotion," he said, comparing his relationship with the people to that of a mother and son or siblings.

"Our vote, our right. No one can buy us," he told the crowd, urging them to back the whistle symbol and give TVK "one chance" to prove that corruption-free governance is possible.

As chants and whistles filled the Thanjavur grounds, Vijay's speech made one thing clear - he intends to position himself not merely as an alternative, but as the central challenger to Stalin in Tamil Nadu's evolving political arena.
