Major Announcements at the Investor Connect Event
According to the state government, the programme drew an unprecedented response from companies across steel, energy and tourism. Firms expressed plans to set up new units, expand existing capacity, develop waste-to-energy facilities and build hotels across different regions of the state.
A total of Rs 6,321.25 crore in industrial proposals and Rs 505 crore in tourism-linked investments were submitted during the event.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai held discussions with key industry leaders, experts and investors, and also handed over proposal letters highlighting opportunities across sectors. He described Chhattisgarh as a reliable, fast-growing and stable destination for industries seeking expansion.
CM Highlights Strengths that Make the State Investment Ready
Sai pointed out the state's strong mix of energy resources, mineral deposits, skilled manpower and supportive industrial policies. He also noted improvements in the single-window clearance mechanism, stating that permissions are now being issued with faster turnaround and better transparency.
The chief minister stressed that the availability of coal, iron ore, bauxite, tin and lithium gives the state a natural advantage for large-scale manufacturing and industrial expansion. He added that the recent energy summit alone led to commitments worth over Rs 3.5 lakh crore, with several projects already underway.
Focus on Steel and Tourism Sectors
While speaking about the steel sector, Sai said Chhattisgarh continues to be the steel hub of India. "The state is home to Bhilai steel plant, NMDC's Nagarnar steel plant and a large ecosystem of MSME-based steel units," he noted.
He also highlighted that tourism potential is rising rapidly, especially as Bastar undergoes transformation with improved road connectivity, internet access and security conditions following a marked reduction in Naxal violence.
Key Officials in Attendance
The programme was attended by Industries Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan, Tourism Minister Rajesh Agrawal, Amit Agrawal from the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Sandeep Poundrik from the Ministry of Steel.
