Chennai Gold & Silver Price On May 30: Know Which Jewellery Shop Offers Gold At Cheaper Price Today

Gold prices in Tamil Nadu remained largely stable on Saturday, with leading jewellery retailers across Chennai, Coimbatore and other cities quoting similar rates for 22-carat gold. The precious metal continues to trade at elevated levels despite the absence of major fluctuations in the domestic bullion market.

Most leading jewellers, including GRT Jewellers, Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers, Lalitha Jewellery, Saravana Stores Elite Jewellery and D.A.R Jewellery, have fixed the rate of 22-carat gold at ₹14,450 per gram. This translates to ₹1,44,500 for 10 grams, keeping gold near record-high levels and making jewellery purchases a significant investment for consumers.

The 24-carat gold rate showed slight variations among retailers. GRT Jewellers quoted 24-carat gold at ₹14,450 per gram, while Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers priced it at ₹15,775 per gram. In Coimbatore, Kota Gold Jewellery listed 24-carat gold at ₹15,818 per gram. Jeyachandran Gold House reported the highest rate among the major retailers, quoting ₹15,927 per gram for 24-carat gold.

For customers looking at lightweight and designer jewellery collections, 18-carat gold continued to be a popular choice. GRT Jewellers, Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers, Saravana Stores Elite Jewellery and D.A.R Jewellery quoted 18-carat gold at ₹11,831 per gram. Jeyachandran Gold House priced the same purity at ₹11,945.45 per gram, while Swarna Maligai quoted a higher rate of ₹12,255 per gram.

The rate of 14-carat gold, often preferred for contemporary jewellery and diamond-studded ornaments, was quoted at ₹9,202 per gram by GRT Jewellers. Market data for Tamil Nadu indicated the average 14-carat gold rate at around ₹9,157 per gram.

Silver prices also remained firm across the state. Most leading jewellery chains, including Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers, Lalitha Jewellery, Saravana Stores Elite Jewellery, Jeyachandran Gold House and Swarna Maligai, quoted silver at ₹290 per gram. Kota Gold Jewellery in Coimbatore listed silver at ₹285 per gram, while GRT Jewellers quoted ₹270 per gram.

According to the latest bullion market data, 24-carat gold in Tamil Nadu was trading at ₹15,698 per gram, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹14,390 per gram. Bullion rates showed gold at ₹1,56,980 per 10 grams and silver at ₹2,68,080 per kilogram, indicating stability in the broader precious metals market.

Market analysts say gold prices continue to draw support from global economic uncertainties, central bank buying and sustained investment demand. The metal has also benefited from safe-haven buying amid geopolitical tensions and expectations surrounding interest-rate decisions by major central banks.

Jewellers expect consumer interest to remain steady in the coming weeks, particularly as families continue to make purchases for weddings, engagements and investment purposes. While elevated prices have prompted some buyers to opt for lighter jewellery designs, gold remains one of the most preferred avenues for long-term savings among Tamil Nadu households.
