Gold prices across leading jewellery stores in Chennai on April 7 show a broadly consistent trend, with 22-carat gold largely hovering around the Rs 13,700-13,860 per gram range, while select retailers quote slightly higher rates.

Oneindia has compiled the gold rates from leading Tamil Nadu-based jeweller shops for April 7, thereby offering a snapshot of prevailing gold and silver prices in the city.

At GRT Jewellers, 22-carat gold is priced at Rs 13,735 per gram, while 24-carat gold stands at Rs 14,995. The 18-carat and 14-carat variants are available at Rs 11,246 and Rs 8,746 per gram respectively.

A similar pricing pattern is seen at Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers, where 24-carat gold is also quoted at Rs 14,995 per gram, with 22-carat at Rs 13,735 and 18-carat at Rs 11,246.

At Lalitha Jewellery, the 22-carat gold rate is Rs 13,735 per gram, aligning with other major retailers. Silver here is priced at Rs 255 per gram.

Saravana Stores Elite Jewellery lists 22-carat gold slightly lower at Rs 13,730 per gram, while the 18-carat variant is priced at Rs 11,242, reflecting marginal variation in rates across stores.

Higher-end quotes are seen at Jeyachandran Gold House, where 24-carat gold is priced at Rs 15,120 per gram and 22-carat gold at Rs 13,860. The 18-carat rate stands at Rs 11,340, while silver remains at Rs 255 per gram.
