Bengaluru Midnight Marathon: Police Close One Side of Road, Issue Alternative Routes for Commuters

Traffic movement in several parts of East Bengaluru will be altered on December 6 and December 7 as the city hosts the 18th Midnight Marathon, organised by the Rotary Club of Bengaluru and IT Corridor. The event, taking place along KTPO Road and EPIP Road under the Mahadevapura Traffic Police limits, has prompted a detailed traffic advisory to ensure smooth movement for both runners and commuters.

According to guidelines shared by the DCP (Traffic East) through an official X post, only one side of the road will remain closed for the marathon. Restrictions will apply to vehicles on the left-side carriageway from Ginger Hotel Junction near Kundalahalli Metro Station on Kundalahalli Main Road up to the ITPL Back Gate.

Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: Alternative Routes and Diversions

To manage traffic flow and avoid congestion around Kundalahalli, Graphite India, EPIP, and ITPL, Bengaluru Traffic Police have announced specific diversion plans. These diversions apply to regular motorists, BMTC buses, and heavy vehicles operating in the area.

1. For vehicles traveling from Graphite India Junction towards Vydehi and ITPL

Take a right turn near Ginger Hotel

Continue along the right-side carriageway until Axis Bank U-turn Junction

Take the mandatory left at Axis Bank U-turn

Proceed via Big Bazaar Junction and Hoodi

Head towards Hope Farm or Channasandra as required

2. For BMTC buses and heavy goods vehicles traveling from Kundalahalli towards Vydehi

Go straight at Graphite India Junction

Turn left at Sumadura Nandana Apartments

Continue ahead to reach NetApp Junction

From NetApp Junction, turn right towards ITPL and Hope Farm

Officials emphasise that while one carriageway will remain closed for marathon activities, the opposite side will be open for regular movement. However, increased traffic density is expected on surrounding roads due to diversions.
