Bengaluru Power Cut Today: Electricity Not Available For 7 Hours In North Bengaluru Affected Areas

A scheduled Bengaluru power cut is set to impact several north Bengaluru neighbourhoods on Friday, February 20, with electricity supply likely to be suspended for up to seven hours.

According to Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM), electricity supply will be stopped for around 7 hours from 10 AM to 5 PM in a few areas that come under the Yelahanka side of the city.

This is because technical work is being carried out at the 66/11 kV Yelahanka substation by the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (KPTCL). Officials will be installing and upgrading important equipment during this time. Power needs to be switched off to carry out this work safely.

Reason: Maintenance and equipment upgrade work at Yelahanka substation

Officials said engineers will install a 66 kV isolator in Transformer-2 bays and carry out upgrades to existing 66 kV line equipment during the shutdown period.
