Bengaluru Power Cut on December 17, 18, 19 and 20: Areas Affected and Timings

Several parts of Bengaluru will experience scheduled power cuts on December 17, 18, 19 and 20, as maintenance and emergency works continue across the city. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) has announced that electricity supply will be interrupted in select areas to facilitate infrastructure work being carried out in coordination with the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (KPTCL).

According to Bescom, power supply will be switched off during the daytime, mostly between 10 am and 6 pm, depending on the location. Officials said the shutdowns are necessary for transformer repairs, shifting of poles and safe handling of high-voltage equipment.

Areas Affected by Bengaluru Power Cut on December 17-20

Bescom has listed several neighbourhoods where power supply will be disrupted on December 17, 18, 19 and 20 due to ongoing works. The affected areas include Prabhakar Layout, Gundappa Layout, Anjani Layout, Ashraya Layout, Kempamma Layout and Venkatagirikote.

Other localities expected to face outages during these four days are Royal Circle, Bagepalli Circle, Tank Bund Road, Teachers Colony, Thimmasandra and surrounding areas. Bescom clarified that while only specific feeders will be shut down, residents in nearby zones may also notice brief outages or voltage fluctuations.

Reason for the Power Shutdowns

Officials said the power cuts are required to allow teams to safely carry out work on live electrical networks. The shutdowns will help in relocating existing infrastructure, strengthening transmission lines and completing urgent maintenance linked to KPTCL operations.

Consumer Advisory

Residents in the affected areas are advised to charge mobile phones, laptops, inverters and backup power systems in advance. People working from home, running businesses or relying on medical equipment should plan accordingly for the Bengaluru power cut on December 17, 18, 19 and 20.
