Bengaluru Man, 25, Dies in Goa Nightclub Fire After Stampede During Escape

A 25-year-old Bengaluru resident, Mohammed Ishaq, was among those who lost their lives in the Goa nightclub fire early Sunday. His body was brought back to Bengaluru on Monday morning, where heartbroken relatives gathered at the airport to receive the remains.

According to the family, police informed them that Ishaq likely died in a stampede while attempting to exit the club after the fire broke out. Officials reportedly told them that the body showed only minor burn injuries, indicating that he may have suffered cardiac arrest or fatal injuries caused by the sudden rush of people trying to escape.

Young Professional With Promising Career

Ishaq lived in Ashwath Nagar on Thanisandra Main Road and worked with a private company while also serving as a data analyst at a bank. He was the son of businessman Mohammed Hussain and is survived by his parents and younger sister.

Relatives said Ishaq had spoken to his father just hours before the incident. He had travelled to Goa with five friends for a bachelor party and told his family he was enjoying the trip. One of the friends in the group is set to be married soon.

Family Claims He Went Back Inside to Collect Phone

A family acquaintance said Ishaq and his friends initially managed to get out of the club after noticing the fire. However, Ishaq is believed to have gone back inside briefly to collect a mobile phone, and the situation worsened moments later. The family first received news of the fire and then, hours later, confirmation of Ishaq's death.

Family Awaits Clarity on His Final Moments

The sudden tragedy has shattered the family, who are now preparing for the last rites in Bengaluru. They are still trying to piece together the sequence of events that led to the loss of a young man who had gone on a short vacation with friends.
