Bengaluru Christmas Traffic Alert: Check Traffic Diversions Near Holy Ghost Church, Phoenix, VR, and More

Bengaluru Police have announced key traffic diversions and parking restrictions ahead of Christmas celebrations, affecting central and east Bengaluru from 24 December to 28 December. The measures aim to manage crowds at Holy Ghost Church and busy shopping destinations including Phoenix Mall, VR Mall, and Nexus Shantiniketan Mall.

Holy Ghost Church: Traffic Curbs on Davis Road

The main traffic restrictions near Holy Ghost Church will be enforced on Davis Road, beginning at 7 pm on 24 December until 12 pm on 25 December. During this period, traffic will not move along the stretch between John Armstrong Road Junction and Coxon Road Junction. Drivers heading from Davis Road towards H.M. Road will need to turn right at John Armstrong Road Junction, then left onto Viviani Road, continue straight, and turn left again at Coxon Road to rejoin Davis Road towards H.M. Road.

Parking is prohibited on Davis Road and nearby corridors, including Banaswadi Main Road, Wheeler's Road, St. John's Church Road, Haines Road, and Promenade Road, to ensure clear carriageways for Christmas Eve services, morning mass, and emergency vehicle access.

Traffic Diversions Near Phoenix Mall, VR Mall, and Nexus Shantiniketan Mall

The Mahadevapura Traffic Police have devised a separate traffic plan for busy mall areas. Changes begin on 24 December and remain in effect until 28 December. Vehicles coming from Hoodi toward Phoenix Mall must take a U-turn near Kamadhenu Nagar, turn left near the Shell petrol bunk, and proceed along the railway parallel road to enter through the mall's rear gate.

Similarly, vehicles approaching from K.R. Puram railway station must take a left near the Shell petrol bunk and continue along the same railway parallel road to the rear gate, helping prevent congestion at the main junctions.

ITPL Road: No-Parking Zones

To avoid roadside congestion during Christmas shopping, parking bans will be enforced along parts of ITPL Road:

Medicover Hospital to Big Bazaar Junction (both sides)

Central Bengaluru roads with parking restrictions include Davis Road, Banaswadi Main Road, Wheeler's Road, St. John's Church Road, Haines Road, and Promenade Road.

Special cab pickup and drop points have been designated near malls to ensure smooth traffic flow. Visitors to Phoenix Mall are advised to get dropped near Bescom office on ITPL Road. For Nexus Shantiniketan Mall, drop-offs are near Rajapalya and pickups near Aster Hospital.
